Welcome to Beauty Girl and thank you for calling by.

After many years in the beauty therapy industry, I got tired of so-called premium salons claiming to be focused on the customer, but in fact much more obsessed with saving every cent possible and treating beauty treatments as if they were production-line products.

So I decided to start my own business from home and to make it exactly what I had dreamed of all those years: a business dedicated to my clients' enjoyment and needs, first and foremost.

Beauty Girl is an approved supplier of the wonderful Thalgo salon-only skincare range. I use Thalgo's professional range in my treatments and can supply you with product for personal use as well.

Thalgo is one of the best products in the industry and has an outstanding reputation internationally. Thalgo treatments are marine-based and as a result they offer a richness and effectiveness for your skin that is truly unique.

Experience & Background

Sarah Ottaway has years' experience in beauty therapy, working in salons in Auckland and Wellington.

Sarah is a qualified senior beauty therapist, gaining her full accreditation in 1995.

Sarah moved to wonderful Wellington in 2009 with her husband, businessman Mark.

With completion of their new house in Crofton Downs, Sarah decided this was the perfect opportunity to branch out on her own ... and Beauty Girl was born!

Sarah and Mark are the sole directors and owners of Beauty Girl Limited.

Standards and Hygiene

Sarah has a passion for beauty therapy and does not like to compromise on the standards of professionalism and personal attention she prides herself on. Sarah aims to create an environment and relationship with each client that is comfortable and enjoyable.

Hygiene is naturally of particular importance in beauty therapy, although sadly it is too often neglected. Sarah pays particular attention to this with practices such as: no 'double-dipping' of wax spatulas; provision of disposable bikinis (at each client's option); single-use wax that is never recycled; and careful cleaning and sterilising of equipment such as nail files between clients.

Sarah also follows a strictly hot wax-only policy for facial waxing, bikini/Brazilian areas, and underarms because she is a firm believer that this is the most gentle and effective method of treatment, and it is much less likely to cause in-grown hairs or damage the skin.
